Summary

The relation between feeding habits and diet-related pathologies of seventy pet rabbits have been studied throughout the data collected from a questionnaire filled up by animals owners between December 2007 and September 2009 in Italy.
The most common problems involve tooth and gastrointestinal tract. The last one especially in animals fed with commercial products. Therefore the data obtained from the questionnaire were coherent with what reported in scientific works concerning pet rabbit clinical pathology so far. A very little number of obesity and urolithiasis cases were reported in the specimen. It finally seems to be highly desirable further analysis to evaluate the correspondence between commercial food and nutritional requirements of pet rabbit.
