Summary

Bacteriological examination plays a pivotal role in the identification of pathogens thought responsible for some infectious diseases and for the selection of antimicrobial molecules for using in therapy. To obtain an optimal result it is important a tight cooperation between microbiologist and veterinary clinician because bacteriological procedures needs some anamnestic information about animal and a clinical suspicion to perform different tests. In this paper we explain microbiological methods that could be apply for the isolation and identification of bacteria and the most important sampling methods.
