Summary

Traumatic injuries are very frequent in reptiles and the correct approach to these situations is very different from mammals.
Stabilization and fluid therapy are very important to minimize stress in this animals and to allow a more rapid recovery.
Fluid resuscitation is based on use of colloid and cristalloid until pressure returns to normal values. Hospitalization for 24-92 hours in a correct environment and administration of systemic antibiotics and analgesic are needed to estimate the real situation and to evaluate the prognosis.
