Summary
A group of non-neoplastic conditions occur as tumor-like lesions of the oral mucosa in the cat. These include chronic gingivostomatitis, eosinophilic granuloma complex and odontoclastic resorptive lesions. Due to the inability to differentiate between them only on clinical appearance, hyperplastic lesions on the gingiva and oral mucosa must always be biopsied.
Differential diagnoses include benign and malignant neoplastic lesions. These conditions are extremely painful and therefore all of them are due to anorexia in the cat.
