Summary
Cyclosporine (CsA) is a potent immunosuppressive drug. Since its discovery in 1976 it has been offering a new pharmacy’s category that selectively inhibits T-cell’s proliferation. In Veterinary Medicine CsA is principally used for the treatment of dermatologic and ocular diseases. The main ocular diseases where CsA is used are cheratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), immunomediated superficial keratitis, plasmoma, pigmentary keratitis, episclerokeratitis and corneal grafts. This work offers a depth description regarding the use of CsA in these pathologies.
